Ketamine‑Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP)
A structured, supportive approach for people who feel stuck despite traditional therapy or medication — combining psychotherapy with coordinated prescribing support and integration.
KAP is optional, not a quick fix, and not right for everyone. We start with a brief screening to help determine whether it may be a fit.
What is KAP?
Ketamine‑Assisted Psychotherapy (KAP) is an integrative approach that combines psychotherapy with the supervised use of ketamine. Ketamine is an FDA‑approved medication that is used off‑label in mental health care to support therapeutic work by temporarily altering perception, emotional processing, and cognitive flexibility.
KAP is not a stand‑alone treatment. Preparation and integration psychotherapy are essential parts of the process, helping you make meaning of the experience and translate insights into real‑world change.
Is KAP right for you?
KAP may be a good fit if…
You’ve tried therapy and/or medication and still feel stuck
You want a structured, time‑limited intervention alongside psychotherapy
You can participate in preparation and integration therapy
You can follow safety guidelines and arrange transportation
You’re open to screening to determine medical and psychological eligibility
KAP may not be a good fit if…
You’re looking for guaranteed outcomes or an instant fix
You’re not able to engage in therapy before/after sessions
You’re not able to follow safety requirements (including transportation)
You’re not in a position to take on self‑pay costs for non‑covered services
What does a KAP journey look like?
Assessment & Readiness
We begin with screening and assessment to determine whether KAP is safe and appropriate. This may include mental health assessment, medical evaluation, and coordination of care when needed.
KAP Sessions
Sessions occur in a structured, therapeutic environment with oversight. Route of administration (e.g., oral or intramuscular) is determined based on clinical considerations and client preference.
Integration & Ongoing Support
Integration therapy is a required part of the KAP journey and typically occurs within 24–72 hours after each Ketamine‑Assisted Psychotherapy session to support insight‑to‑action change.
Many clients participate in a series of sessions (often four to six), though treatment plans vary and are individualized.
Cost & Insurance
KAP sessions are not covered by insurance, including Medicaid (OHP). Some preparation and integration psychotherapy may be covered depending on your plan.
To help you make an informed decision early, we provide transparent pricing information and a Good Faith Estimate (as applicable).
When using insurance benefits, your insurer may have access to records and may limit aspects of care. Some clients choose self‑pay for privacy and flexibility.
Safety and Logistics
Screening is required to determine medical and psychological eligibility.
You must have reliable transportation; you may not drive after a KAP session and must follow our safe discharge requirements.
Preparation guidance (including fasting and day‑of recommendations) will be provided before treatment.
KAP sessions are currently offered on Wednesdays and Fridays, and advanced scheduling is recommended due to limited availability.
